Our History
1998
A committed group of parents and educators from TCEP came together to address the lack of cultural and educational resources available to families at Telpochalli Elementary and the larger Little Village Community
2002
Telpochalli Community Education Project (TCEP) is formally organized as a nonprofit community based organization on July 26th 2002.



2005
TCEP's organizing efforts successfully led to the demolition of a hazardous ROTC building in the community.
2006
TCEP held the first Para Ti Mujer Conference.
2007
American Labor Leader and Feminist activist Dolores Huerta Visits TCEP.
2011
The Girl Talk Program and the Ollin Youth Summer Leadership Institute was created.
2009
TCEP held the First Gran Kermes Mexicana Community event.
2013
TCEP holds its first annual Luchando Juntos event.
2015- 2017
TCEP launches a community organization effort with teachers, parents, and students to raise awareness on the needs of Community Links High School and educational space availability.
2018
TCEP joins other organizations in the "Families Belong Together" campaign to protest the separation of migrant families.





2021
TCEP hosts the Back -To - School Fair, which offered free school supplies, COVID-19 vaccines, and other resources to about 1500 attendees.
2017
TCEP Youth Group attendees a conferences in St.Louis Missouri on ocean conservation.
2020
While COVID-19 surged throughout Little Village TCEP mobilizes volunteers to make over 200 weekly deliveries of food, diapers, PPE, and other necessities to the community.

TCEP parent leaders spearhead the "Cuidar Nuestro Tesoro" campaign with over 40 partner organizations to promote culturally responsive COVID-19 awareness.
TCEP Turns 20!
2022
TCEP celebrates 20 years of community impact through culturally responsive programming, community engagement, and advocacy in Little Village and beyond!
